Thirty-four associations of businesses, authors, and artists from the cultural world are asking the Italian government to change its position on the European Artificial Intelligence Regulation.
The Context
"Italy must uphold the provisions on transparency obligations for the sources of content used to train artificial intelligence algorithms. A clear and effective regulatory framework is necessary, which self-regulation cannot guarantee. We strongly urge the Italian government to support balanced regulation that guarantees transparency of sources, promotes the development of artificial intelligence technologies, and protects and promotes original human creativity and all cultural content in our country."
This is the appeal (read the full text >) that thirty-four cultural and creative industries and associations have sent to the government in view of the December 6 trilogue, which will focus on the delicate negotiations to approve the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Act, the European regulation that aims to establish a legal framework for the development of artificial intelligence, including generative AI. Similar appeals have been signed by French and German associations.
Objective: For the three European countries that have so far opposed stricter legislation to change their position on the European regulation.
