Record producers and artists have the right to fair compensation for the public broadcasting of the sound recordings they have produced and/or performed.
SCF offers the opportunity to legally use the recordings of over 500 record labels representing a catalogue of approximately 30 million tracks.
We have signed agreements with the trade associations Aeranti Corallo and FRT, which recognise discounts on the purchase of the SCF licence for their members.
Radio
To date, there are over 1,000 national and local radio stations that broadcast music in compliance with music copyrights. With the SCF licence, you acquire the right to:
- Broadcast the music repertoire on air and simultaneously on the web.
- Make technical copies of musical recordings to manage your schedule.
By integrating the Radio License with the Podcast Licence, you can offer your audience the possibility to listen to programs on demand through the radio station's website and to download the programs on their devices.
TV
By subscribing to the SCF licence, television broadcasters can legally:
- Broadcast our music repertoire via digital terrestrial, satellite and simultaneously on the web.
- Make technical copies of musical recordings to define the schedule.
To also offer viewers the possibility to watch programs on demand via the broadcaster's website, integrate the TV Licence with the Vodcast licence.
Web
Only over 350 websites hosting Web Radio or Web TV have chosen to legally use the SCF-protected catalogue. SCF licences authorise:
- The provision of phonograms and music videos on the website through web radio and/or web TV organised in a continuous stream.
- The creation of technical copies of musical recordings to conveniently manage the schedule.
The possibility of making on-demand content available to the public is excluded. For this option, SCF issues specific licence agreements where possible.
Web Radio
- Amateur: Created to share an interest in music in general or in specific repertoires, without any advertising and without any direct or indirect profit motive.
- Institutional: Created by organisations such as universities, political parties, religious groups.
- Commercial: Associated with websites of companies that produce goods or provide services, or with the sale of advertising space, or with paid access.
Web Tv
- Audio Only: To add value to television programming.
- Audio & Music Videos: To offer a complete and engaging musical experience.
To offer listeners the best of the programming at all times, integrate the SCF licence with the PODCAST and/or VODCAST licences which allow you to listen to and/or watch the programs broadcast, on demand, via the website.
